"A Place Where Everyone is valued"

Welcoming Refugees Supporting Ukraine

With the terrible conflict in the Ukraine, we raised money in school to support the charities helping displaced families and injured people from that proud country. In a special assembly, the children learned about the Ukrainian identity e.g. the national costumes, learned facts about the country e.g. it being the largest country by land area in Europe, and developed a sense of place for this proud country e.g. the blue representing the sky and the yellow representing the corn fields on the flag of this peaceful, farming land. As well as creating Ukrainian decorations as a show of support, the school choir learned the Ukrainian national anthem and sang out loud and proud to the whole school.
