"A Place Where Everyone is valued"

Our Rethink Food Project

The Rethink Food Education programme has educated both the children and the school community. One of 32 schools across Leeds and Bradford involved in this project, our children have enjoyed the process of setting up their social enterprise and creating their own branding and posters to showcase the stall. Initially the surplus food stall had a slight stigma and was perceived by some families as a food bank. Once the children shifted the conversation to focus on food waste and its effects on the climate, more families engaged in support of their children. There are many members of the community who use the stall every week and queue to access it as engagement has increased due to families supporting the project and its goals. The children are proud of the impact they have made for the planet, and for their community.
